I found it hard to believe when MGMT said their second album would have no tracks similar to the poppy electronica of "kids" or "time to pretend," but I shall doubt no more. "Congratulations," the second album from the Brooklyn group debuts April 13th, and it is a complete 180 from their last banger of an album. This album was said to have been written mostly "deep in the woods" as the band knew not how to deal with their successes; the result brings out somewhat of an emotional twist and less pop-rock.
"We're trying to come to grips with that world," he admits. "It's not our world. We don't feel comfortable in it. But we didn't want to make that typical second album either, about fame.
