I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good

watch out

technology can be baffling. every minute every day there is an advancement in technology that changes how people live their lives. ages ago people were born and died with only a handful of life changing technology. today we are an app away from changing lifestyle- how we gets news, how we interact. technology advances productivity, makes life easier, but does it not eliminate the humanity in things? Reading the paper at the local diner vs thumb scrolling headlines? Conversing with old friends vs "liking" their status? all that being said- that iwatch looks awesome and i want one.

whats left of amarillo

A freak accident resulted in the termination of 1600 out of 1700 pictures taken in the great city of Amarillo, TX. This is a disaster that pains me beyond wanting to talk about it so I wont. Amarillo is the capital of the Texas Panhandle, named after the yellow wildflowers that covered the plains when settlers discovered it, and full of true Texans. If there is one thing that stuck out about Amarillo it might be Stanley Marsh- a name that I did not go a couple hours without hearing on my trip. Marsh offices which control an oil and media company is located at the top of Amarillo's tallest building. His story differs by not spending all his time perched at the top; but rather spending time to spread art through the town of Amarillo. My Marsh sightings included Cadillac Ranch (see below) A number of street signs all of which are independent of the city and contain messages not having to do with traffic, and a football field sized pool table that is meant for an aerial audience. As you may expect his passion is not welcomed by everyone to which he replies "Art is a legalized form of insanity, and I do it very well."

Make the most of every second because you dont just find free time like this every year of your life. This is the one time being part of a school best suits you, because no real classes til August. I can hardly hold in my excitement, lets make the most of it.

The Nashville Flood

I have been out of my hometown for what has probably been one of its greatest setbacks since the Civil War. I haven't seen the damage first hand yet, but I thought this video captures some pretty strong images from Nashville. Much respect to those aiding the recovery process

summer's eve

"I wake up every morning a few more hours away from another three hour session in which I will be asked to regurgitate four months worth of educational material inside a small blue book.  This regurgitation of material is all for a greater quest to receive the first letter of the alphabet scrawled in red ink from a ball point pen across the front of my work by a professor who would probably rather be else where just as much as I myself would like to be.  As I stated in the last post, it is once again finals season on campus.  Like one last remaining boulder waiting to be pushed out of the way before the floods of summer can overwhelm, we find ourselves doing daily battles on quiet library floors in preparation for our final scholarly showdowns. It seems like all of my heroes dropped out of college.  None the less, onwards we press."

How to Make it in America

HBO's new series was an attempt to recapture the Entourage boom created from its last highly successful show about living the good life. The title itself shows you the main difference between these two shows; that is to have made it or to be on your way. The show caught my eye initially because it stars one of my favorite people in Scott "Kid" Mescudi. But beyond the headline attractions "How to Make it" has something special about it. Regular people trying to make it to the top of the fashion industry in the ultra competitive New York, New York. The First season has just ended I recommend you try and get your hands on it. The intro song and video is one of the only ones I never fumbled for the remote to fast forward through, it was worth watching everytime:
