whats left of amarillo
A freak accident resulted in the termination of 1600 out of 1700 pictures taken in the great city of Amarillo, TX. This is a disaster that pains me beyond wanting to talk about it so I wont. Amarillo is the capital of the Texas Panhandle, named after the yellow wildflowers that covered the plains when settlers discovered it, and full of true Texans. If there is one thing that stuck out about Amarillo it might be Stanley Marsh- a name that I did not go a couple hours without hearing on my trip. Marsh offices which control an oil and media company is located at the top of Amarillo's tallest building. His story differs by not spending all his time perched at the top; but rather spending time to spread art through the town of Amarillo. My Marsh sightings included Cadillac Ranch (see below) A number of street signs all of which are independent of the city and contain messages not having to do with traffic, and a football field sized pool table that is meant for an aerial audience. As you may expect his passion is not welcomed by everyone to which he replies "Art is a legalized form of insanity, and I do it very well."
